Establish a skin care routine for your skin type. Find the proper products from cleanser, toner, essence, Emulsion, Serum, Moisturizer, and eye cream. Depending on your face you may need all or just a few products, decide what care your face needs and find your products. As you grow older take extra care of your skin, avoid strong or even fragrance soaps that may cause unnecessary damage to your skin. When taking a shower make sure the shower is warm and not hot, when you are out of the shower pat your skin dry, make sure you moisturize regularly as older skin are usually dry.

Your skin usually is the key to making you look younger or older than your actual age. Problems like dry skin, age spots, and winkles can give you an older look. A smooth, healthy skin will give you a youthful look. There are a few skin illness that are inherited and can not be help, others are preventable. With the proper care, many pitfalls can be delayed by loving the skin your where born with.
Protecting your skin from sun damage is of up most importance. 'The American Academy of Dermatology states that most wrinkles are caused by sun exposure.' If your surroundings permits it wear a wide-brimmed sun hat so it will keep the sun off of your face and neck. Make sure your sunscreen is at least 15 SPF or higher and wear it everyday. If you go outdoors a lot make your trips around the hottest part of the day. From 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. you will receive the worst of the sun rays, making it a point to be inside for those hours will give your skin an advantage.
Your body needs the right food to function properly. Eating a healthy diet will boost your energy, maintain your health, and keep your body in top shape. Help your body by eating fruits, vegetables, lean meats and whole grains. An increase in vitamin C will give your body a push, you want to seriously reduce the fat and carbohydrates you put into your diet. Eating right shows right through your skin when the proper foods are in your system, your skin glows and look smooth. Avoid bad habits that are part of your lifestyle, smoking and stress can be some of your biggest culprits. You want to keep feeding your skin breathing and full of vitamin A to keep it looking healthy and retain its youth. For a more serious problem of the skin, going to see your dermatologist is highly suggested, notice if your skin is over dry, skin lesions and age spots may be harmless, but other times may be a more serious warning like cancer. If you are making an expensive purchase of new cosmetic or skin care products, you may talk to your dermatologist also on the quality and effectiveness.
